Welcome to our new website

We're still in the process of getting all of the site content in place, so there's not much to look at just yet. But the framework for the site is up, and we hope to take care of the rest this summer.

When finished, our website will serve as an information hub for Character Animation students, a resource for prospective students, and a place to let the world know what we're all about. Perhaps even more importantly, it will serve as an ever-changing showcase of our students' work, and as a point of connection for students, faculty and alumni.

upcoming events

April 25th, 2009 — The Open Show

2:00 PM - 7:00 PM, 10:00 PM - 1:00 AM in the Main Gallery at CalArts

This is our main screening of all student films from the current school year. Seating is first-come, first-served, and all are welcomed to attend.

The show will be split into two parts, due to another event taking place nearby. The first part will run from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM, and the second part will begin at 10:00 PM, and run until about 1:00 AM.

April 26th, 2009 — The Open Show

2:00 PM - 10:00 PM in the Bijou theater at CalArts

A second screening of all student films from the current school year. Seating is first-come, first-served, but limited due to the smaller venue. There will be several short breaks during the show.

May 7th, 2009 — The Producers' Show

8:00 PM at the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood

This is our annual showcase of selected student films from the current school year. Tickets are extremely limited, and sell out every year. However, there is a rush line at the front door, in case any seats become available at the last minute.

May 12th, 2009 — The Donut Show

2:00 PM - 4:00 PM in the Bijou at CalArts

As part of the School of Film/Video's Bijou Festival, Leo Hobaica hosts his annual screening of selected films from this year's Character Animation Open Show. Leo is providing free donuts and milk for the first 120 people who attend.

May 15th, 2009 — Graduation

6:00 PM in the Music Courtyard at CalArts
